A NEW GENERATION USER'S INTERFACE

MAS® version 2.0 comes with a brand new modern interface, designed not only to be nice to the eye, but to make the workflow more intuitive, faster and with less limitations imposed by old-style web 1.0 forms and tables. It is also more flexible, and allowing for a better and faster scalability while we add new features to the next versions to come.

The workspace looks more like a standard desktop application where multiple windows and dialog boxes can be displayed at anytime, freely moved around the workspace, rolled up to a small title bar while the user looks at another window, or minimized to the taskbar showing all active windows. The windows remember their size and position for the next time they are opened.

All common lists in the interface are presented in spreadsheet-like grids, where the user can easily select the sort order by any column, double-click a row to edit it, or apply actions using the action buttons or right-click context menu.

Convenient page navigation makes working with large lists faster. Some lists also allow grouping of items for easier access.

All template editing areas are designed so that they do not occupy much visual space, but when the user has to make larger editions he can detach the template area into another editor, maximize it and work with the extra convenience of syntax highlighting, and tags/brackets auto complete features. Hints popup boxes, showing the allowed MAS® custom tags, are available for fast lookup.

All templates also include multiple versions with undo functionality so that the admin can easily revert back to a previous revision of a template in case of mistakes or just to switch fast between different layouts while testing. Certain template revisions can also be marked 'Locked' so that they will not expire and will always keep a 'last-good' version of the site to revert to when needed.

The Content List, being one of the main areas for everyday work in MAS®, has been redesigned with special care to improve performance. There are more precise filters and search options than ever.
Content groups (Models or DVDs) can be explored with the ease of a double click and their contents open up in new tabs, allowing for fast and simultaneous work with different content sets.
You can switch to Compact Mode for easier selection of multiple content sets to apply batch actions to, but when you click a single row it expands to reveal the extended information, like in Standard mode. Ctrl/Shift+click can be used to select larger adjacent areas of content sets to work with.

When editing content set properties, the description areas are also detacheable like the templates, and allow built-in simple html formatting. Selection of related sets and parent groups has also been made easier; you can apply a filter by category first, then sort and/or type-to-search the wanted one.

Last but not least, the new interface is fully compatible with all current versions of Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Safari for PC or MAC. But there is also the option for customers to download from the Mansion Productions support site a compiled version of the MAS® interface based on Google Chrome, which can be run on different platforms as a normal desktop application. For such cases, the MAS® system can be optionally configured not to allow connections from regular browsers, in order to tighten up security even more against unauthorized access.
